K-8 students are invited to participate in this year’s optional Remote Oratorical Festival. The process will be as follows:
Students have been working on persuasive/argumentative writing over the course of the school year. Over the course of the next two weeks, students are encouraged to prepare a speech about something they want to change in the world. Teachers will be available to assist with editing and feedback.
Speeches can be in English and/or in the target language.
We encourage students to video record themselves giving their speech.
Cell phone quality video is fine.
Submitted recordings will be compiled into a larger video that will serve as a celebration of oratory.
The deadline to submit videos is May 15th at 4pm.
Maximum time allotted for speeches are as follows:
K-2nd grades: 2 minutes
3rd-5th grades: 3 minutes
6th-8th grades: 4 minutes

Los estudiantes de K-8 están invitados a participar opcionalmente en el Festival de Oratoria Remota de este año. El proceso será el siguiente:
Los estudiantes han estado trabajando en escritura persuasiva/argumentativa a lo largo del año escolar. En el transcurso de las próximas dos semanas, se alienta a los estudiantes a preparar un discurso sobre algo que quieren cambiar en el mundo. Los maestros estarán disponibles para ayudar con la edición y comentarios.
Los discursos pueden ser en inglés y/o en el idioma
Alentamos a los estudiantes a grabarse en video dando su discurso.
El video con calidad de teléfono celular está bien.
Las grabaciones enviadas se compilarán en un video más grande que servirá como celebración de la oratoria.
La fecha límite para enviar videos es el 15 de mayo a las 4pm.
El tiempo máximo asignado para los discursos es el siguiente:
K-2do grado: 2 minutos
3er-5to grado: 3 minutos
6to-8vo grado: 4 minutos
