Speaking of next year, our kindergarten Spanish classes are almost full! If you have an incoming kindergartener and already have a student at GVA, you do have a preference, but that is ONLY if space is available!

Don’t lose your spot by waiting until the last minute to register!
Fill out an intent to enroll ASAP which will start the registration process.

Teacher & Staff Members of the Month

Please help me congratulate our most recent teacher and staff members of the month!

Teacher of the Month- Paul King

Mr. King has been with GVA for a number of years and has worn many hats during his time with us! Paul has taught 5th grade, 6th Grade Social Studies, and a Drama class. He also hosts a chess club and an acting club after school for students. Just a couple of weeks ago, his acting club put on an awesome performance of "The Wizard of Oz" that was a huge hit with students and parents! His class is a fun, safe, and dynamic place for students to learn and challenge themselves. In addition to all he does for students, Paul is always willing to lend a helping hand, collaborate with fellow teachers, and offer support when it is needed. Thanks for all you do for GVA, Paul!

Staff Member of the Month - Alena Darsky

Ms. Alena (Lena) is amazing at so many things. She is organized, proactive, helpful, and doesn't take "No" for an answer. She contributed an enormous amount of time and effort to organize our Russian Cultural Event: Maslenitsa, all while juggling her job and family life. Lena is a great liaison with the Russian community and the Diversity Committee and worked tirelessly to put together such a fun event. It was GVA's first year doing this event, and it was a wonderful celebration. Inside the school, Lena supports one of our kindergarten and 1st-grade Russian classrooms and is always willing to lend a hand wherever needed. She is also a crucial person in making sure that our traffic runs smoothly! Thank you for all you do!

Maestro del Mes - Paul King

¡El Sr. King ha estado con GVA durante varios años y ha usado muchos sombreros durante su tiempo con nosotros! Paul ha enseñado estudios sociales de quinto grado, sexto grado y una clase de teatro. También organiza un club de ajedrez y un club de actuación después de la escuela para estudiantes. ¡Hace solo un par de semanas, su club de actuación realizó una actuación increíble de "El mago de Oz" que fue un gran éxito entre los estudiantes y los padres! Su clase es un lugar divertido, seguro y dinámico para que los estudiantes aprendan y se desafíen a sí mismos. Además de todo lo que hace por los estudiantes, Paul siempre está dispuesto a ayudar, colaborar con sus compañeros maestros y ofrecer apoyo cuando es necesario. ¡Gracias por todo lo que hace por GVA, Paul!

Miembro del personal del mes - Alena Darsky

La Sra. Alena (Lena) es increíble en muchas cosas. Es organizada, proactiva, servicial y no acepta un "no" por respuesta. Ella contribuyó con una enorme cantidad de tiempo y esfuerzo para organizar nuestro Evento Cultural Ruso: Maslenitsa, todo mientras hacía malabarismos con su trabajo y su vida familiar. Lena es un gran enlace con la comunidad rusa y el Comité de Diversidad y trabajó incansablemente para organizar un evento tan divertido. Fue el primer año de GVA haciendo este evento y fue una celebración maravillosa. Dentro de la escuela, Lena apoya una de nuestras aulas de ruso de kinder y primer grado y siempre está dispuesta a brindar ayuda donde sea necesario. ¡Ella también es una persona crucial para asegurarse de que nuestro tráfico funcione sin problemas! ¡Gracias por todo lo que hacen!
